Day 1 of Natives OPM proved to be ‘ray of sunshine’. Conditions were glorious with unseasonally warm weather. Wind was kind though proved challenging enough to spread the field by days end. Ipswich shooters performed well with David, Brian, Ivor, Rohan and Tim all taking range medallions on the day. The competition is primed for an exciting day 2 of the meet. We wish our Ipswich representatives all the best.

Day 2 commenced in calm conditions as the morning fog began to lift and the cloud cover allowed for a perfect sight picture, so scores were high at 800 and 900. At the 1000 the clouds cleared for a bright calm start at 12:45. However by 1:15 a tumbling offshore wind blew in and worsened as a westerly storm moved in on proceedings spreading the field widely and made its presence abundantly clear during the presentations.

Congratulations to Ivor who had a ‘golden day’. Ivor dominated the TR-B field on day 2 placing 1st at each range, securing 1st in Day 2 Aggregate and 1st in the 2 Day Aggregate as well. Rohan followed his 3rd in the Day 1 Aggregate with a 3rd placing at 1000 yards to secure third in the 2 Day Aggregate. Well done Rohan. Lester also nabbed a 3rd placing at the 1000 yards. David fought hard over the longs and was able to hold on to 2nd in the 2 Day Aggregate.
